I hope you are all well this Sunday morning......I had a traumatic time yesterday during the making of the card below, I REALLY do need to go into rehab!!!

A couple of weeks ago I bought some bargin ribbons, yard upon yard for only 60 pence a mixed bag, well, I stroked them, looked at them every day and even sent a few yards to a few friends!
Yesterday, I could not find them anywhere!! the shock.... I searched every box, drawer, my quilt, my Christmas stash.... and nothing... I felt sick, dizzy, ill, light-headed....did not sleep properly.......All this and I have at least 500 ribbons wrapped and colour co-ordinated in my stash!!!
Anyway.... this morning I found them !!!! I went to get the hoover and there between the wall and the drawers were my ribbons, they must have fallen from the top of my boxes and slipped out of sight!! Thank goodness I some-times clean up hehehehehe........

On to my card as I'm sure you have better things to do....

I NEED to get out more!!!

Yesterday, I received a parcel I had been waiting for, a bias binding machine to finish off my quilt!!!

I was delighted when the white van man appeared, I rushed back inside and I was soooo excited...... I cut the tape and started to imagine all the goodies I could store in the strong brown box!!! Then came more excitement...... it was packed with thick brown paper (a little like craft) I dumped the contents and rushed upstairs to iron my paper and look lovingly at the creations I would use it for..........it was 2 hours later that I finally remembered I had not opened the machine itself!!!

My quilt is now coming along well, I am up to the filling and backing step next........ I thought I would give you a peek at the first six squares, not all a perfect fit, but.. for my first attempt and not having the correct tools or knowledge... not too bad!! made from 2 1/2 inch by 6 1/2 inch strips sewn together. The pattern is known as log cabin.

I think I need more of a life!!!

I hope you are managing to get some craft time this weekend. I have just finished this card although I really wanted to get it in this mornings post, never mind!
Last night we had the neighbours round for a few glass of red(or whiskey in their case lol)and a few games of domino's. I keep the 2 pences with the domino's so we always have change, but Mum hates to give it back at the end of the night lol, says she won it!!!
I want to have an hour with my quilt this afternoon, it is coming along quite well. I am up to the border now. I had a big todo yesterday, as when I was filling the spool, I did not notice the cotton was going underneath the winder instead of on the spool------- what a job I had trying to get the cotton from the inards of my machine!!!!! YES... I did swear..... but it was my own fault hehehehehe aanother learning curve.
I hope you don't make as many daft mistakes as I do! enjoy whatever you are doing.

Are you keeping busy ??

I just have so much to do and so little time lol....... I have been busy working on my quilt, which has not gone to plan in places, so I am taking it as a learning curve for my first attempt.!
It is coming along quite well now, Mum twisted her knee getting out of bed last Sunday, so I have not had as much time for crafting, it is a lot better now and this afternoon, it will be a trip to Asda and then the hairdresser will be here about 3.30pm instead of tomorrow,so, not much time to waste!! On to my card..... it features two of my bargin buys.... double sided paper, 12 x 12 pad,
a bargin from the garden centre last year. no name on it and this week I went for the filling for my quilt and found a bag of mixed ribbons for 60 pence! approx 30 yards!!! was I a happy bunnie, I searched but could not find any more lol

Happy Birthday Janette

I made this present for my friend Janette who lives in Blackpool...then came the problem!
I could not post it lol..... so yesterday, Aunty Sue, Mum and I made a flying visit,( Mum cannot climb stairs to visit the loo, so just a cup of coffee and home) the weather was murky with rain and temps down to freezing, snow forecast.... but needs must!

I bought this jug from the charity shop for £1.50p

I then covered it all with decopatch, my first attempt at this

When it was dry I varnished it to seal it
I also covered a wooden heart to match
I made a lace flower tied on with fibres here

I made a tag in matching colours here

I went to the garden centre and bought a primula in the same cerise colour and planted it in the jug

I hope Janette is pleased with the finished result, the flower can go in her garden after her birthday and the jug can be used on her desk for bits and bobs!

Well, the snow never arrived last night, but I am not complaining--- it is very cold again today, thank you for popping by and the comments you leave are appreciated. Keep warm and here comes the week-end!

Sunshine today

twice in a day!!

I have been sitting here with some lace I bought last week and ended up with this beautiful flower.

I just had to show you, I am so pleased with it!
Row of lace tacked and pulled tight.
layer of pink organzie cut petal shaped
lace cut shorter and again stitched
layer of blue organzie
1/2 inch lace sewn and pulled
I then dabbed it with ink pads in yellow, green and pink
hot glued it all to a circle of card and added gem

It looks so much nicer in real life, thanks for taking the time to look

Snow melting fast

It is a lot warmer here today so I hope you are all cosy.
I have managed to find an extra hour to myself this afternoon as I got Mum up early (10am) lol, I did see a few challenges for tags, so I decided that is what I would make today.

I made this with double sided pink pearl card
I cut with nesties on to paler pink then heat embossed swirls and stuck on gems
On the front I used a darker ink for all the swirls made with my rubber stamps
Wild Orchid flower, leaf from stash (craft show I think)
masses amount of stickles diamond
Fibre from stash for tie

Well, it's snowing now !!!

It started to snow about 11am here in Manchester, I have just been out and salted the path to the shed, the dustbins and the front garden path. Boy----was it cold out there......anyway it should make it easier to clear any snow away.
I have just started to make my first quilt, I thought it time to use my new machine which I bought 2 years ago! Have I had some senior moments with it DOH !!!!

Very cold here today again and a bit grey looking-------I think I must have had a brainstorm recently, as I am now in the middle of 3 different projects including knitting----- it's always all or nothing with me lol..... just hope I complete them all.

Thursday already

I can hardly believe it is Thursday so soon, every day has been busy, on Sunday I went to Aberkhan and hobbycraft at Bolton with my cousin, Monday I was very tired, Tuesday I picked up prescription from Doctors and then my granddaughter came to visit and stayed for tea, Wednesday was Bingo with Mum and then a trip to Morrisons.....I had more time when I was working lol.....
I was a candy winner on Craftyloops blog (Lee) and my parcel came this morning! I was totally overwhelmed by the goodies I received and the standard of her work!! Thank you so much Lee......I bet Aunty Sue finds she is 'just paassing' so she can see my loot!!! lol

Anyway, my card today is totally different from what was in my head!!! it was half planned when I got my freebie from Elizabeth O Dulemba..... she is called winter snowflake fairy, so then of course it had to be a Christmas card lol

Good morning..... Well, really I should be in the shower.... but you know how it is when you switch the computer on first!! I have a routine where I check emails first, then click on Breast Cancer site, I then go to check on cyclones to make sure my Son is okay in Aussie..... then off to the blog where I forget to move lol.......I must get Mum up for 12pm though as hairdresser is coming today! Better move on!

More rubbish gone!

I am feeling so pleased with myself since New Year...I decided I had to cut down and clear out, well, I have made a start in the shed and got rid of quite a bit, I have not bought as much shopping I don't really need and today I had to go into the loft for some stuff, so while I was there I brought out a big bag of books, A plastic bowl with a hole and 2 carriers of rubbish---- OKAY.... not a lot to some people, but a big start for me lol....and I mean to go on!!!!

My card today is for a birthday later this month, I have not done Tilda for ages and she used to be my favorite!

Cold but wonderful

I hope you have had the wonderful sunshine today, typical of me, I left taking a picture of my card to the last few mins of good daylight and then the batteries went!!!!
I may replace it tomorrow with a better one lol

I went to the hospital for bloods this morning, but yesterday, the Doctor nearly got a thick ear!!! He suggested weight-watchers !!!!!I told him I could write my own books and exercise plans as I had been at it for 47 years!!!!! I did my first of three, (on behalf of Christie's cancer, when my Sister was diagnosed) Manchester to Blackpool bike rides at 57 years of age and that's 65 miles!!!plus I was doing 15 miles a day, seven days a week for training! I do see his point though (without his help) as I resemble a pair of semi's!!! hehehehe

It's a bit chilly and drizzly here at Manchester today, I hope you are keeping warm. Now the winds have gone, I shall take Mum shopping at the supermarket this afternoon. It has been much too cold for her to go out. I shall stick to my list as well------I have finally got it into my head that there is only the two of us, but you would never guess if you opened my cupboard doors!!! I am on a mission, six bags of sugar??? and I only use it to bake??? and who's going to eat all the cakes!!! common sense needs to prevail!

Are you doing anything exciting????? no.... me neither!!

I was going to do all sorts today, then had visitors and nothing done... never mind, a new day tomorrow. I did have a little tidy-up in my craft room yesterday...... just enough to be able to move around and I put some stuff into my new set of drawers.

Todays card is for a birthday later this month, I have five to make for January. I am determined to use up some of my stash and same with stuff in the kitchen.....I am looking in the cupboards to make sure I need buy, instead of just guessing and ending up with a for instance.... 5 jars of sage!! anyone for stuffing lol------

Hurrah ! the rain has stopped-----

well, at long last the rain has stopped for a while,---- what a difference the sun makes, I have really enjoyed making this card this morning lol-----blue sky, sun shine and Mum snoring, she was up until 1am New Years day and had a glass of wine with tea, 2 glasses of sherry later and yesterday she dozed in the chair all day, went to bed at 10am and has slept the clock round until 1 pm, I must get her up soon though!

Rain, cold and windy

I have only put my nose out of the door to get to the dustbin...... not a day for venturing far!!I bought a new (2nd hand) set of drawers for my craft room yesterday and now I need to re-organize a little (well, a lot!) as I can't move around lol....... G_Plan for just £20,00, I know I can easily fill the drawers........

Today I am showing you some of the gifts I made as presents, I bought a gift bag and started to make things to fill it, it may not have cost a fortune but it was filled with my own work and lots of love................

I made the boxes and then filled them with false teeth, mice, and spiders, this came about as Jules had mice a few weeks ago and was frightened of them running in her mouth overnight! as if--- the way she snores lol

Next to go in with the kind permission of Dianne from on the cards blog was buscuits with freebie sentiments from TLC

The buscuit tins were from Tesco, braid added top and bottom, picture from Arthurs clip-art coloured and glittered

Next was flowers made from a fab tutorial by Lee craftyloops, she is soooo clever with flowers! Bit of organzie from local market and off I went...Thank you Lee

These were made with organzie and brads from stash

Next came some flowers made by taking apart a lei and adding net petals between layers with a hot glue gun..., it's not called a hot glue gun for nothing... I had no skin left on my fingers lol

After that came little handbag dies I have had for ages, I stamped and glittered them and then added chocolate coins and pc generated sentiment

Then I watched Kirsy Allsop on TV and thought the hearts she made were so pretty.....so.... I made a total of 16 hearts, stars and trees at 45 mins each ...phew, as I said, made with love...lol and each one had a jingle bell attached!

There was also a fairy on a glass bauble,

filled with hugs

Next came the perfect man, I PC generated the sentiment, used a labels die with cello bag and forgot to take an after version all wrapped up!

but guess who had to eat the rest of the gingerbreads and will be on a diet in the next few days!!! lol

and a few papers from my Tesco buy.

and of course, a Christmas card......

Good morning all

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day, Mum and I had far too much to eat, like most of you I would think! I hope you escaped the bugs which have been going round.
Hasn't the weather been mild, I had to turn off the heating especially when cooking, and just had the fire on for Mum.
My Son in Darwin, Australia escaped the cyclone that hit land on Christmas Eve, it moved East and was not as intense as predicted, so they just got wind and rain.
My nephew in New Zeland, lives in the North, near Auckland, so they were safe as well from the earthquakes that shook Christchurch. All we have to worry about is wether the shopping is done !! lol

I have made a birthday card for my friend who's birthday is New Years Eve.
So strange to make a card without snow and glitter on lol!

Over the last 2 weeks I have been busy with a couple of projects that I can show you after Christmas, I suppose I should now get busy with the cleaning, now that most stuff is over and done lol.......

It's just 3 degrees here near Manchester, not a day for going out! I was hoping to get stuck in to a mountain of cards today but 4 hours has passed me by with little activity hehehehe.....but guess what.... My HP printer has now re-appeared after turning the computer back 3 days, but I have lost the Kodak again.... I am leaving well alone today as I can now print something at least.

A windy good afternoon

What a couple of days again !!! I tried to download Skype on Friday night and got halfway there... then on Saturday morning when I turned on the computer, up popped a blue screen with a warning and off it all went. I was almost in tears as I have bought an external hard drive to copy my stuff on to and I am frightened to use it, technical I am not!! I blame Aunty Sue for not coming down to help me lol.....Anyway, I unplugged it and took it to my nice man, he promised to try and get it going before he closed... and he did. seems it was the internet card or some such, that very rarely goes, whatever, it cost me £48.00 !!! between the car and the computer, I am almost bankrupt!

Today I am showing you a card I made for my friend in Blackpool ( yes girls, I do have a friend)! I am also going to apologize in advance for the naff quality of the pics.It was just coming daylight and I had to get it in the post early, for birthday Monday. I would also like to say a big thanks to Lee(craftyloops) for her excellent tutorial on making these yo yo flowers, they are beautiful in real life, especially the cream and gold one.

I decorated the inside to match...again this gave me problems, I have had my Kodak printer for 3 months but cannot get it to print true colours, I tried to scan my green paper to give me enough for inside but it came out blue! and these are genuine inks that came with the printer.

The town scene has been done with Aieleens glitter snow (like a paste) and off cuts of papers and peel-off greetings.
They do look better in real life.

We did not get to bingo today as I have been having my dizzy spells again, so I could not drive.
I thought I would show you my new halogen oven lol..... we had mainly leftovers as I could not stand for long (good excuse) but I decided to try some roast potatos,

these are just beginning to brown.
I was very pleased with the results, golden, soft inside but crispy outside.

I made the leftover mash from yesterday into potato cakes, which I can't wait to eat, dripping with butter.

A little bit of what you fancy does you good , so the saying goes lol

I'm sorry the photo's are not very good, but we have now eaten it all so can't re-take lol.......... tomorrow, if I feel better I will have to find it somewhere to live in the kitchen. These ovens take a lot less electric and are quick to cook.

Happy Tuesday

I am wondering today just how evil I must have been !!! I went out this morning to nip to the post office for stamps and stuff------- and there we go! A FLAT TYRE!!!!
After all the money I have spent on this inconvenience on the drive, over the last month I could have bought my own private plane! I tried to blow up the tyre with a cigarette lighter blower upper thingy (you know what I mean) thing, but it was hopeless so had to get the tyre folks out.... another £30.00 down my drain-----anyway, I am sitting in excited anticipation awaiting the delivery of a halogen oven !!! the delivery people quoted 3.40pm to 4.40pm, will they make the slot do you think?????

My card today was inspired by the colour of the coat, I woke up with it in my mind but I did not have the dark brown I wanted for matting, so this is more coffee and cream lol, if only I could craft in my sleep all my Christmas cards would be made lol, then again, all of Christmas is spread out on the bed and I have about 2 feet in which to sleep, any more and I will be on the settee until Christmas eve hehehhee

I had a busy day yesterday, I started on these quick cards for the people we see at community bingo......20 of them, now all written this morning and waiting to go lol.
I used some toppers that I have had for a few years. Have you noticed, your best papers and ribbons seem to last no time at all and get used up so quickly, yet the other stuff seems to last forever, no matter how much you try to use it up!! My Christmas stash never seems to go any less lol

The card stock was bought in boxes complete with envelopes, when I first started, I'm sure we all have some on the shelf!

I hope you have all had a good day, it's been dry here so that must be good. I remembered late last night that my neighbours had a 40th Wedding anniversary today!!! needless to say, I did not sleep well as it was on my mind.
What a time I have had with it, taken me all flippin day!!!
I bought some papers from Nitwits this morning 'crab apple too' That was the easy bit....... I printed them out on the kodak printer and they came out lilac!!! it's new ink as well.... so then I tried on the HP printer, that was fine, made the card eventually after getting Mum up half way through and then I needed the greeting inside.I got it half printed on the HP and then it stopped. I changed the black ink, faffed about....no joy, so changed the colour ink as well although it had just printed fine.....will it work now ?????? no way !!!!! I HATE TECHNOLOGY !!!! I have wasted so much time this afternoon.

Yippee.... the car is back !

I finally got my car back on Tuesday night and I am now £252.00 lighter!
It was a fuel problem, it had to have new fuel pump and filters, anyway, it seems fine now. Off to Tesco later to try it out again.

Today my card is for a long time friend who is in hospital. He has been ill for over two months and has yet to have a firm diagnosis. Hope they find the cause soon.

Still no car !

After a week, I am still without a car, apart from it being a fuel problem the garage are still not sure how to fix it .....after a conversation yesterday, I offered to barter and pay in groats!! (for the younger ones, this was currency from around 1279 to 1561 when we had the Britannia Groat until around 1855)I offered 3 Groats, a freshly baked milk loaf and an old bantem hen that no longer lays eggs......we did not reach a final agreement lol...

Todays card is for my Son in Darwin, I loved this image of Lewis (from Bugaboo) and because the wet season is now under way at approx 33 degrees, they have started to use the pool again. When I visited the first time in their dry season, they looked at me in horror when I suggested using the pool at ONLY 24 degrees hehehehe

Good Morning...

I hope you are well today, I am going to get Mum up soon but thought I would show you my latest card before I get stuck in to a pile of ironing...... I do know how to have a wild time lol......still no car so not going far this week-end!! The saying 'no news is good news'always seemed right, but that's not the case with the car lol, it just means they don't know the problem!!

I have another massive problem, any help appreciated.
My ink keeps running with my promarkers, never had a problem before, I have always been able to print and colour........ the thing is, I am using same shiny card as usual, and tried Rymans as well, I have used my HP printer and also my Kodak printer (neither one has had new ink lately...I have tried heat setting it, hair spraying it, leaving it for a few days to set, my promarkers are not new....Nothing works......has anyone else had the problem or can you help??? I just don't understand why when it has been okay for 4 years!!

Anyway..... this is my card for my neighbour next door, my favorite Buggabo images again.....she loved it.

Still no car

Well, how are you today ?? I have still not got my car back from the garage, they cannot find the problem!!! ........... I don't DO simple lol.... I know I said I was not in a hurry, but I did think the day after, I bet they have sold it for scrap, thank goodness for freezers, at least we won't starve.....while Mum was having breakfast (at 12.30pm) I made a dozen fruit scones, they are now all gone. The hairdresser came this afternoon and we all had jam and clotted cream scones, my neighbour called to say thanks for her birthday card and went home with 2 scones and cream, my brother called and had 2.... then we have had the rest after tea as pudding lol........ sorry you did not get here in time!!

Stupid cars................

I was going to take Mum to community bingo today as we have not been for a few weeks, we got in the car and then it would not start!!!! how ungrateful is that after I spent £1,100 on it over the past few weeks, anyway, I gave it's tyres a good kicking but that did not help so I had to get the garage man out, who could not fix it here and he is coming back to tow it away........... still, better at home than being out and about!! Always a silver lining !!
Todays card is a very quick one which I had forgotten about lol.... It is for for Aunty Sue's son, he works in a jewellers selling watches, so my brain was not taxed too much!! Just as well the car did not break down on me when I delivered this yesterday.

Feeling tired today

It was one of those nights you just hate, going to bed tired and then wakening up after an hour and not being able to get back to sleep!! I have been up and down all night lol, I made a drink, had a read, got up twice when I heard Mum go to the bathroom, to make sure she got back in bed...... I think a lazy afternoon and a doze may be the limit of my energy this afternoon, especially as it is cold and dull. What are you doing today ?

My spider is not dead!

I showed you a picture of a big spider living outside my craft room window early in October. I thought it was dead. It has just moved, gone across the web to eat a little beastie lol....then back to the middle again, I am so pleased I did not clean my window and disturb it's home!!!

I have spent a couple of hours in the garden yesterday and today, quite warm out... I have moved weeds and dead stuff and taken some plants in before the frost. I hope I remember to water them a little over winter. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

How much do snowdrops cost???

While it was dry today I decided to go to the local garden centre (which is massive) most of my snowdrops have died/been abused by a gardener that did not know weeds from plants and my dwarf daffodil and tulips no longer seem able to raise their heads!! So, eventually I found a pack of snowdrops, and a pack of crocus,on offer was mixed daffodils, then a duel pink/white heather took my attention..... I ended up spending £23.64p! BUT Oh.... the Christmas displays are out of this world.....As I am of the older generation, my Christmas decs come out year after year, but as I wandered round and listened in, the younger generation were discussing the colour theme they would have this year!! It seems some of them throw them out and start again each year with a different colour!! No wonder they have no money.....which generation are you lol

It's very cold, windy and rain with hailstones..... not a day for going over the door-step! I hope you are keeping warm wherever you are.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend..... at least it is dry again which makes us feel better, the forecast is for cold and wet, we shall see lol,....I have had such a frustrating time trying to make this card, I knew what I wanted to do but everything was against me, don't you just hate those days! I cut my card with grand nesties for the shape, trouble was it did not cut through both pieces, so I had to mess about and finish with scissors. Then because the card was not true, the snowflake mat was out of flunter and also the bottom glitter mat!! Then came the new spellbinder flourishes I bought 2 weeks ago at the craft show, they only half cut despite going through the big shot 6 times, so had to resort to the scissors again. I wasted so much time with it all, I could not find the glitter card either as I had to re-organize when my shelf fell down.... Anyway, finally finished and this is for my 18year old Granddaughter and I know she will love the glitter and pearls lol

Well, after having a moan about all the rain for days on end.... today...tra-la... we have some sun!!! what a difference a day makes.

I took the car into the garage this morning as I still have a leak, it is being picked up this afternoon and will cost about £150.00!!! EEKKKK----------That's a £1000.00 in two weeks!!! after MOT, tax. insurance and a few jobs------ anyone want a step scrubbing or washing done ??? lol

I have a cunning plan for my Christmas cards now.....I have my list out and I intend to work my way down and then write them, this one is for my nephew in New Zeland, next will be family in Australia..... just hope Mum does not pop her clogs before Christmas hehehehehehe better not seal them up!!

Today I have done another card to fit in with Crafty catz challenge as I was soooo miffed with myself yesterday, putting gems on instead of buttons

I have had more than enough of the rain now, only good thing is.... it's been quite mild.........I hope it is better where you are. We have not been to bingo today, Mum was a bit tired, so I sat down and thought of making some Christmas cards, and that's as far as I got before I fell asleep lol, Here is a card I made yesterday.

A can't be bothered day

Do you get those days when you can't be bothered to do anything ???? it's grey and dull here, been drizzling all day......don't feel like making a card, reading does not appeal, just done a bit of ironing and nothing on T.v....... I hate these sort of days lol
Anyway, last night the neighbours came round for a few games of domino's, Mum won nearly every game and then would not give the money back, she shovelled it all in her purse (I keep loads of 2 pences in the tin then we always have change) I shall have to hook it out when she is not looking or she will have monkey arms lol. Les was bankrupt (we started with 30p each) and had to borrow for the last 3 games.

Today's card is one I made for Natalie's 21st birthday, it does not seem long sine I was making her 18th !!

End of summer??

Well, the weather seems to be changing here, after our fantastic 4 days of clear blue skies we now have clouds and showers, all good things must come to an end. On the bright side, my car was not quite as expensive in the garage as I thought it may be, and then when I got a quote from last years insurers, they were the best around, and less than I thought I may have to pay......always a silver cloud....the craft fair at Leigh On Sunday was good, Jules spent a lot of money, I spent some on behalf of Aunty Sue, but she loved what she got, and I spent a little on some Nesties, gems, card and RIBBON....... NO >>>> I did not have enough!!!!!!!!

My card today is for a bessie friend who has just lost her Husband, a truly lovely Gentleman, who I had the pleasure and privilege to meet in August.

Here comes Summer

A little bit late but more than welcome, I hope you have brilliant blue skies wherever you are, not a cloud for 2 days now lol......... I just love the sun but can't sit in it for as long as I used to.

Well, Aunty Sue is home from hospital and doing well, I passed on all your good wishes, I don't think she will make it to the Craft show on Sunday, but bet she may try lol.
Now I have finished this card, I have just given Mum a cornetto and I am munching my way through one while trying to type one fingered! Does a cold ice-cream bring down blood pressure as the Doctor kindly gave me an extra tablet as well as increasing the one I am on!! lol

Well, another wet, damp day, I really need to weed the gardens and cut the grass ready for winter, I really hope we do get some of this hot weather that is forecast for this coming week.......... Last Night I went to visit Aunty Sue, she is recovering well after her operation on Friday, hopefully, she may be home be Tuesday/Wednesday, she had just had brasied steak and mash for tea, I passed along your good wishes and hugs lol, here is the card I made yesterday afternoon to take with me. First Christmas card for this year

I thought I had better make a start as I am always on the last minute with Christmas,I saw a simple sketch and thought it would make a good start.
After getting my washing out in the sunshine (what is this weather going to do?)I put Mum's woollen blanket on her bed on Tuesday and now they are saying we are going back to temps of 25%!.... I digress lol.... I sat down to make my card. Hopefully, I will have time later to make a get well card for Aunty Sue, who a lot of you know..... she is having another big operation this afternoon, to finish off the one she had last year.Unfortunately, this means she will miss the craft show in Leigh at the beginning of October, I will try to spend her money for her though like I did last year! lol

Wednesday is Bingo day.....again

Wow, the week does go fast lol, Community centre bingo with Mum again this afternoon,we have not won much this year (£1 stamps for Morrisons) which we save for Christmas, enough for veg and gravy and a bottle of wine, we still need to win more for the turkey lol........ it's gone windy and cold here this afternoon, hope you are all keeping warm...

Well, when it comes down ..... it really comes by the bucket lol, hailstones yesterday and showers today, still, we can't choose! I may, just may.... do some ironing later! lol

I was asked yesterday for a golden wedding card so while it is a bit miserable out, I decided to craft this afternoon, hope she likes it.

I have done a matching inside with the gold heart cut on my cricut and tied with crochet cotton(thanks Janette) and nestie shape on opposite side

Start of another Week......

Hope it is a better week without daft blonde moments lol.......last night I was winding my last lot of ribbons on to my card system when a friend? phoned... she could not get over the fact that I had 50 yards of 1/4 inch yellow gingham!!! so I did not mention the 25 yards of red satin or the 30 yards of grosgrain beige that I had just put away lol.....I don't see anything wrong with that! everyone needs a few ribbons (I have over 400 now)she wanted me to enter a blog challenge USING RIBBON !!! I would need a lie down if I did that lol.....Anyway, to keep the peace (and make sure of Father Christmas bringing a present) I have made a birthday card for my daughter-in-law in Darwin, Australia.. HAPPY NOW JANETTE???

What a time I had colouring this, 7 in bin and 1 on card....for some reason the image kept bleeding, never had that problem before, I used promarkers/ watercolours/prisma's/ hair spray/ matt card/ shiny card and a LOT of swearing, even used HP printer and Kodak printer......finally used the heat gun, pass the red wine and more ink !!!

Warm, wet and windy

I hear that by Monday we are going to be getting winds of up to 80mph! If it stops raining long enough, maybe I should go outside and pick up some of the old plant trays and other rubbish, just in case.

Well, I have had quite a few DUMB BLONDE moments over the past few days as some of my friends can verify,I am feeling worn out by them lol...I just had another, neighbours are away and asked me to pick up post and make sure everything is okay, I was praying this morning it would be, as yesterday I pressed the wrong button turning off the alarm.... so alarm went off and I managed to stop it eventually, but could not reset it!! I went in this morning, picked up papers and post, put them in kitchen and noticed a beautiful bottle on the kitchen window sill.....I picked it up to admire it, there was no writing on it so I turned it upside down to look at the bottom.......MISTAKE......I spilled half it's contents and I have come home smelling like a Tarts handbag,...... had to get changed lol

Anyway, on Thursday I woke up at 5.30am with a card running through my head, how does that happen when you are asleep?? I had to get up at 5.50am and make it for Aunty Sue who is going back into hospital soon for another operation. Lucky for me she laughed and found it amusing. I sent it from her 4 close friends... sorry about photo quality. If you click on the pics they will enlarge....if you do want to read it lol

An itchy good evening

Well,I think I am trying to see how many small ailments I can get at once lol.....just settling down with inner ear trouble causing dizzy and sick spells and yesterday I got my rash back on my arms which drove me mad in the night, I hardly slept lol.... went back to see the Doctor this morning and have more tablets to take, I told him on Thursday what a handsome young man he is (he looks about 15) lol, I had to look at him while following his finger with my eyes....you should have seen him blush, he will think I am being unwell on purpose lol, Toilet still not fixed, had to use a bucket all week-end to flush and then the plumber thought he had repaired it yesterday and it has leaked all night, I have had 7 towels down in the past 24 hours to catch the leaks, hopefully he will come back and repair it properly tomorrow !

Anyway, on to my card.......I was asked to make this for a first anniversary and the lady wanted a Las Vegas background (as that is where the marriage was)plus a couple on the front........ I hope she likes it tomorrow.

Busy Sunday doing this and that

I have been busy this morning making a card for a DT spot I won a few weeks ago on Die Cut Dreams, So, I can't show you this one yet. What I will show you is a very quick card I made for my neighbours who have just had a new drive laid, it is still in the hardening off process and needs a top coat yet. We have had to take out a joint fence panel so they can use my drive as a path until it sets. I could not resist taking this photo when they went out at lunchtime lol

A dizzy good morning

On Wednesday I started with an inner ear virus again..... this knocks me for six and comes without warning, it makes life difficult trying to look after Mum when I am sick and the room won't stop spinning lol. Yesterday I thought the tablets were working, but this morning, coming onto the computer again, I find I was a little optimistic....so I will get on with today's card. This is a sympathy card for my cousin.

In fact these are becoming to be a doddle!! NOT..... this one was easier because I could make the image larger, I was asked for a card for a son who's 30 and likes games.... think this could cover the remit ( I hope) lol, I had a visit from my lovely friend Aunty Sue today, I almost decided to visit her then changed my mind, and boy, was I pleased, as she has cleaned up my documents no end and got rid of loads of rubbish and double (and treble) images from downloads...... what a star,..... and it only cost a cup of coffee!!! NO... you cannot rent her services!

A bit sunnier today

What a lot of rain we had yesterday, I eventually got my washing out at 5pm and got it half dry, the car has been leaking for the last 3 months but I have now found out where.... will have to get it fixed next month when it goes for MOT and service lol.
Mum was up to go to the bathroom earlier, I have just peeped in to see if she is still asleep and she is half sitting up and snoring away, she will have a really stiff neck when she does get up!
Todays card I found really hard to do....I was asked for an A4 size(I'm so used to 6" x 6") and a picture of crown green bowling!!!! well, I looked for hours, on my CD's...on the net... on google...the ones I did find were copyright protected! Anyway, although this is not the best ever picture, it will hopefully be okay.

Well, this morning I awoke bright and early.... what's the chances of accomplishing any more than normal ??? lol
I did a little gardening yesterday and feel quite stiff today, but if the sun stays out I may try a little more, so many weeds.....
I was asked yesterday to make two A4 size cards.....it's ages since I did that size and don't know where it will end up, but that's what the lady wants! don't you find you get used to a certain size/shape? I will hopefully come back tomorrow with my efforts lol....Todays card is for my friends anniversary, I love Stella and Gus...

Visitors from down South.............

I had a very busy day on Sunday,I got Mum up early and we went to a Christening at 12.30pm.........at 2pm I had special visitors from down souf!!!! Avril(Queen B) and her lovely, long suffering husband Rex !!! I don't know how he puts up with her lol, they came to Manchester especially to visit us as they are having a holiday in Yorkshire.......Aunty Sue and Jules picked them up from the hotel and we all had the afternoon together. It was so much fun. On Saturday, I had made soup, cheesecake, apple pie,and fruit loaf, knowing there would not be much time to do more than lay the table after church. After a cup to tea and a gossip, we had afternoon tea of soup, salad and cold meats and lots of cakes for afters.
They all went up to my craft room like a pack of wilderbeasts...... looting and pillaging lol.they had to be frisked on the way out.hehehehe
I have made some lovely special friends through our shared passion for card-making.

I hope you all had a good weekend, back to rain and another round of cleaning and washing lol.............

I started to decorate the box room yesterday and I think I am officially to old or knackered to do it again lol........ I stripped the walls, emulsioned the ceiling and glossed the window and door frame....today I have glossed the radiator and skirting boards and papered the first wall, it is more difficult as I cannot take up the carpet and I am working around computer desk, which I need to keep using........Maybe Mina could help as she has been practicing at the farmhouse lol...........anyway, I managed to make tonight's card on Monday and it need to be in the post box tomorrow

A major disaster !

Because of circumstances over the last 3 weeks, I have done very little card-making, I made 2 christening cards before my problems, but I have really struggled to sit down and make the boxes. Well, time is running out fast and so over the last couple of nights I have now completed them. This morning I decided to take photo's of them when disaster struck.
I had used my black ink pad earlier and forgotten to put the lid on...... I dropped one of the cards face down on the pad and now I have to start all over again....... yes, there was tears as the lady is calling tonight for them......so better get Mum out of bed and start all over again!!

Very hot but rain on the way

It has been very hot today so in my wisdom, I decided to put on the ceiling fan in my craft room-------WRONG---- what I should have done was dust it first as I never use it and it had 12 months dust on the blades, to say everything is covered, including me, is no lie...... because I have a rotating chair, I always think I will dust the fan later when I have something stable to stand on......... well, it's clean now !!!!
Last night we had a visit from an old friend of my parents, lovely to see him and we had a lot of laughs, he brought a little gift of a Cinderella doll for Mum. This is just a quick card to thank him.

We had a lovely day yesterday, but hey ho.... back to the cloudy skies and wind again today.
I am really struggling at the moment to make anything.....I am very unhappy with this card but as it was my 3rd attempt, it had to go in the post. It is going to my grandson in Australia and it is going to be late as it is.......I have another to make yet for my other grandson who's birthday is next week...... I really need to pull myself together.

A week and a half----------

Well, what a week and a half this has been !!! I won't bore you with details, but it seems some of my friends have had the same... (might as well get it over in one fell swoop lol)I hope you are all having a better time than me.
I made this card over last weekend, but have only just been able to get around to showing you........ It is for my neighbours great grand-daughters christening next month and she loved it.. I must admit, I did waste card trying to make the box, but I was pleased with the finished result.

Yesterday, (Thursday) was Mum's 97th birthday, I was up early to shop and cook, never got around to the cleaning lol..... I started Wednesday night with the trifle and 2 fruit cakes (which sunk) I think the oven is on it's way out again!!!Thursday, made 2 more fruit cakes and put the others in the freezer to use as puddings lol, banana cake, large sponge for birthday cake, creme patisserie, an orange cheesecake, cheese, onion and leek pie for the veggies, then the boring stuff like salad, sandwiches, pork pies and suchlike......the first visitor arrived at 12.30pm and the last got evicted at 11.15pm as I was knackered!! in between, we had 14 people in and out, Mum loved it all but asked to go to bed at 10. 45pm !! she slept until 1.45pm today when I had to drag her out of her pit lol, methinks, a little too much of the snowballs and sherry hehehehe............ anyway, here is the card I made for her, anyone who knows her, remembers the lines of washing she always had blowing in the wind ! I remember having to use the washing board as a child, dolly tub, posser and mangles, along with the dolly blue and starch, folding in the buttons on shirts and liberty bodices.All steeped the night before.... and how posh were we, when Dad bought her a machine with rollers !!!(but the bedding still had to go through the mangle) The excitement!!! (still, I thought I was the bees knees in 1968 when I had a twin tub!!before that, it was the launderette, taken on the pram on a Friday night, children in bed with him outdoors looking after them !) OKAY, the ones under 50 will not have a clue what I am talking about!! hehehe

Sorry if I have not been to visit this week, I will get round to you, life has just been hectic! lol

A day at Morecambe on Saturday

While we have had the wonderful weather, we decided to take our neigbours to one of my favorite places.... Morecambe bay,..... we are so lucky just here to have Wales, Blackpool, Morecambe, The lakes, Trough of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales and Darbyshire all with an hours drive. Wonderful countryside....
We got to the North end of Morecambe bay, very near Silverdale, around 12.30pm parked and Margaret and Les had a walk on the salt marshes. (not a place for the wheelchair lol) We then had a wonderful lunch at a farm cafe there. The farmers son is the chef,and then after closing at 3pm, he gets changed and milks the cows at 4pm. lol ... we had a short stroll and then back for ice-creams, sitting on the wall watching the sea and looking out towards the Lake District Mountains.
Into the car and a short ride to Morecambe, again a walk along the shops and a little spending,Margaret found two pairs of Hotter shoes in the sale for £30.00 each, she was made up! then on to the short pier. The cafe was closing as we arrived so we walked back to the new Midland Hotel, refurbished last year. A shandy and some sea and people watching then back in the car to Heysham.

This is a beautiful village with houses from the late 1500's.... we went up to the wonderful church and then the ruins and burial grounds of an unknown age....a walk along 'The burrows' which eventually go down to the sea, no matter which point you are along this massive, stunning bay, the vastness and majestic mountains are a joy to the soul.... then back to the local pub for a brilliant evening meal and a glass or two of red lol....we came home via Sunderland Point which thrilled Les as he is a bird watcher and he saw quite a few waders... home for 10.50pm and Mum slept all night lol.... so did we.

another sunny day

We have had a few nice sunny days her near Manchester, dodgy starts but what the heck lol....how I just love these nights when it is still light until 10pm......well, still got the lurgy and decided I had better take myself to the doctor as it was getting worse not better... I still work on the old system of 3 days in and 3 days out, that's what we were brought up with lol, anyway 4 days and spreading...came home after having to self diagnose, with antibiotics and steroids....I also bought a BIG bottle of calamine lotion!!!!!!!!! how I love that stuff, been around since before I was born, never been 'improved, made to smell different, updated, or bettered' what it says it does, like a comfort food if you know what I mean, I have used different creams and portions and nothing works, put on the calamine tonight and Hey Presto!!! taken out a lot of the burning and stinging...ANYWAY........

tonight's card is another for the walking club, I just love the little flower with it's own umbrella, lol... how cute is that ?

Well, the weather got better

We had a lovely day yesterday(Sunday) warm and sunny and we nipped up to Blackpool to see friends....some people think I have a lot of stash.....finger wet, finger dry, cross my heart and hope to die.... my friend has EVERYTHING on your wishlist and things you did not know you needed!!.....later, we had to have the fish and chips of course, before coming home...lol
A little rain first thing then another lovely day. I finished off a card for the walking club (Margaret next door) lol........ ooooo I do love my Stella's.

The only downside is that during the night I had an itchy arm, during the day it has spread to both arms, chest, back and face...... I am now running a book in the grove as to whether I will get well or die from the lurgy....... just as well I updated my will 2 weeks ago......... some lucky people in line for goodies lol..... I do hope to recover as my Mum is 97 on the 7th July, maybe I should buy and write a card, just in case lol.....

A busy weekend

I never seem to have had a second to myself this weekend......cooking, washing, cleaning, book-keeping shopping, (here's me moaning)...... no time for me to sit down, it's just do this and just do that!!!!.......... As I said tonight, in a loud voice when I was ironing at 9.30pm ... no-one ever thinks to help ME.... and then I had to hover right through the house as my brother has been here all afternoon/evening and never took his boots off!!!! When he had gone, I discovered dried mud all over the house, I never noticed earlier with seeing to Mum and getting tea...!! OKAY, WILL STOP THE MOAN LOL.........

Tonight's card is one I made for Margaret for her book club friends, I was looking forward to doing this but it got put together in a rush for a birthday on Tuesday.

Well, I did it-----

I got the PC back from the shop and it had a virus.....programmes running in background and it has had more memory put in, I am so pleased that I have managed to connect it all back up and it all seems to work as it should lol, I am not going to say anything and see if he notices!!
Yesterday I was was very naughty lol, a late tea and when I went to wash up I saw smoke from over next doors fence, ( they had lit their Chimera(?) so I went out and said in a very loud voice, 'blinking neighbours never look to see if I have taken my washing in before they light fires and then it smells of smoke' Well, they both started to apologise and blame each other for not looking, promised to put it out immediately and were so embarrassed----- I stood behind the fence in stitches......then shouted 'only joking... no washing out' well they were going mad lol PMSL.... I went back in finished the washing up and then round with a glass of wine, they thought it was hilarious thank goodness, which is just as well, as today I have another card which Margaret has ordered for her book club friends!

Well today I thought I was being clever, as him indoors went off to work, I decided to take his PC into the repair shop as it has been playing up and running slow. I have had to leave it until tomorrow and now I find I need to do some invoicing and book-keeping on it and I also realized that when it does come back.... I don't know how to plug it all back in.... I think I will have to go with the 'stupid' option, as he kept telling me to leave well alone.... to late now I fear!! hehehe

A sunshine weekend

Well, at last the weather has picked up just a little to give us some sunshine.... had a lovely day on Sunday with friends, a good laugh and a bit of shopping........ a little better but still not quite right, hopefully this week will make a difference.
I managed to get him indooors to cut the lawns and dig up some seedling trees before they got to big, looking much better out there now.

Today is Aunty Sue's birthday which she will be able to sit back and enjoy, now she has moved into her new home. I know she has quite a few cards so I will have to find time for a visit to view tham ! lol

Feeling Better

I am feeling much better now after the virus/vertigo attack last week. It certainly kept me on the settee watching daytime t.v.------ which in turn sent me to sleep a lot. lol
Just looked after Mum and left everything else.

This weekend I have been busy making a card that I can't show you yet, but I will show you a STUNNING memory box which was sent to me by my friend Janette (little Bo )I really wish you could all see it in real life ! The attention to detail is something else. It was filled with threads and other bits and also a handmade card and envelope! How lucky am I ?

I hope to catch up with you all soon and see what you have been up to.

Not been too well since Thursday and unable to look at computer screen for long. I think I have either a virus or vertigo, whichever, I can't seem to stand up straight or watch tv (a good thing)read or use computer. Just feeling a little better tonight so thought I would add my latest card.

In time with this one---

for a change, this is early, I made it for my neighbours. They have a 21st Anniversary on the 26th May.. Well I have had a busy few days helping Auntie Sue to pack and move house.......well, the bit I did was to pack a few things on Thursday, and do a meals on wheels service, Turkey Chunks, onion and carrots in chilli-con-carne sauce, apple crumble and custard. On Friday I made cottage pie with cheese topping, Chocolate sponge, chocolate custard and a banana loaf, well it is hard work moving lol.....I went to have a nosey on the pretence of taking food and flowers!!

Anyway, on to my card, I just love this paper, It came in a win from Mina and is double-sided.
The image was a freebie but I cannot remember where from, ( if anyone knows I will give credit)

Hurray...... the rain has stopped

It's suddenly gone dry this afternoon, blue sky and light winds, I thought we were going to drown, got my last 4 loads of washing out......... anyway, hope you are all well. Him indoors went away working yesterday, hence a little time to myself, which is just as well as I discovered late last night I had another birthday today........... hope I catch up with myself soon, I hate being behind!

Todays card will fit quite a few challenges for a change and I enjoyed the time spent making it.

The sketch I followed is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp
Papers (I think) came from QVC at least 4 years ago and came to light in a clear up last week! (anyone else guilty of this lol )

Had the men today to fit new glass in my patio door....... and they measured it wrong !!! they are now coming again on Tuesday to refit DOH !!
Been to visit Aunty Sue and took her an orange cheesecake.... I know it won't last long lol
