Best wishes for the new year

Hello to you all and I  hope you had a wonderful Christmas,
I had a very memorable flight from Manchester to Auckland with 4 changes of planes!
There was still much preparation to be done for my Nephews wedding, so the first week was so busy. We also went to the Christmas tree farm to choose our own tree, which was fun.

The wedding was perfect with the cereomony being held at home, on the front lawn, afterwards, we moved to the local beach cafe for the reception, the owners did an amazing task in transforming the place. Our luck held out as it was sunny and 24 degrees, Cyclone Evan stayed away ( we got the tail end of it  from the following day, with high winds and rain)

Christmas day was lovely with far to much food and Santa managed to find me and leave some fab gifts of ear-rings and necklace and even a chocolate orange (which had to be eaten before I moved on!)

I moved to my Son and family on the 27th December------- they live in a small town called Humpty Doo, it is about an hour out of Darwin. Of course it is the wet season here and the daily temps are around 34 degrees, plus high humidity-----------(will I feel cold when I hit Manchester again lol)  we have thunderstorms and heavy rain most afternoon and evenings------- we went to an open air market yesterday, but many stalls have taken time off for holidays, still, it was unusual to see chickens (large and small), ducks canaries and other birds for sale in cages, rabbits as well. it does seem cruel to me, but that is different cultures for you.

It is 6 years since I last saw the boys and what a difference of course, much more grown up at 9 and 12 years old.
Not sure what today holds, but we are having a meal out at the local golf club tonight.

I wish you all a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

I enclose a few pictures for you

What a lovely post Tilly, not sure if you're still there or back home. You made me laugh about Manchester being at the bottom of the lake, I'm glad the church survived the flooding of the valley though.

Hi Tilly, You're a star, thanks so much for visiting and for joining in with LillyBo quilts. They need only be small and don't have to be complex, they'll be loved just the same!
Will post details soon.
So lovely to see your post about the wedding... what a fabulous occasion it must have been and no doubt very different to our weddings here.

Hi Tilly! I've come by to say thank you for stopping in at the Playhouse and leaving us sweet anniversary wishes!

I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond. I took some time off to celebrate with Mister and now I'm making my way through all the wonderful good wishes.

It was fun stopping and reading how your Christmas and the wedding were. Thank you for sharing!! Take care! Darnell

It sounds like you are having a fabulous time Tilly!
I think you'll definitely feel the cold when you get home again...I'll keep my fingers crossed that the snow has gone before you hit the tarmac! Do us all a favour and pack some of the sun in your suitcase...we could do with it here!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
Big hugs
