Friday 1 August 2014

Good afternoon

Here I am and so is the 1st August....... where are the weeks flying to??
I am joining in with Annies Friday smile again.............week 80
Just simple little pleasures for me this week.
Share a smile...
On Tuesday, I made 3 small jars of lemon curd, I gave 2 away as presents and I have been eating mine on crusty bread for breakfast........ very yum if I say so myself, I could have been a pig and eaten the whole loaf but for a change I showed some restraint !!!!
Although we have rain today, these beautiful yellow daises always make me smile.
As I passed the greenhouse I peeked inside and could see the tomatoes beginning to ripen
Also, the grapes seem to be bigger this year (normally to small to eat) and I may just have to tread some wine lol.....
As I used my last shop bought pickled onions yesterday, I can now open a jar of spicy pickles that I bottled in December.
And lastly, I can't wait for tea-time, one of my top 3 meals...... meat and potato pie with a thick crust and  with mushy peas and red cabbage, OHHHHHHHHHHHHH heaven !!!!!! It's just been put on to cook so no picture lol.

I hope you have a good week and thank you for visiting me, if you  have the time, visit 'a stitch in time' and smile with Annie.

Hugs Tilly

Hi Tilly,
Such simple pleasures but aren't they always the best? :-) I can almost smell those tomatoes....I really love the smell on your hands when you've just picked the tomatoes :-)
Hugs,

Oh Tilly, I'm SO hungry now. I've never had lemon curd, but would love to try it someday. And although I'm a vegetarian, I would be glad to join you for a meatless potato pie. It sounds divine and has me smiling. Hope your weekend is fabulous, too.

Oooh, lemon curd! One of my favourites. One of my great-grandmothers called it 'lemon cheese' which has always tickled me!
