I put the washer on and then convinced myself I needed a cup of coffee and a sit down to decide if it was going to rain! lol...
What I wanted to show you was the two baby quilts that I made on Sunday to donate for a McMillan coffee morning this Friday. Here is the first one
If any of you used to belong to DoCrafts then you will know Julia from Doncaster. (although she is from the wrong side of the Pennines, I don't hold it against her, Lancs/Yorks rivalry lol) I have known her for quite a few years and she sent me the recipe for the marmalade I make in January. She is an avid supporter of McMillan and works so hard all year for the cause. Because I can't go on Friday, I saw a post to say her D-I-L is expecting a baby any day (12 days overdue) she is on taxi duty and also will be looking after 3 year old granddaughter while Mum is away. Last Thursday she started with Vertigo! I have been there and done it---------so I phoned her and offered my help. She accepted and on Monday I went for the day. Never having met at all, she just felt like an old friend, before I knew it, I was cooking on her stove and going into her cupboards for ingredients. I peeled more than a few apples for crumbles and pies being made today, and we made jam and mincemeat as well as Julia doing 4 tray bakes.
I also took the two cushions I made a few weeks ago from old jeans......
We had a good chat and lots of laughs, her friend Sue came in the afternoon to help as well.
I hopes she makes a good amount, last year was over £1300.00 it won't be from the lack of trying, you should see what she has made to sell, I came home clutching goodies after spending pennies from my sweaty palms lol..........hope the baby arrives before the coffee morning!!!
I'm linking this up this week with Annies smiles
Thank you for your visit, enjoy the rest of your week
Hugs Tilly x

Hi Tilly happy Friday Smiles and what a lovely post to read...the baby quilt are so nice and the recycled jean cushions what a great idea. So nice of you to go help Julia out and I bet you did have a fabulous although busy time. Cheers and enjoy your weekend Robyn
Your secret is safe with me. Lovely projects, and so generous of you to donate them. Your jean pillows just reminded me I rescued a legless pair of pants....Hmm now you have my sewing wheels turning. Keep smiling and creating.
