Good morning

I am here joining in with Annies smiles you can find them here, I have been finishing off my birthday celebrations with a girls lunch out last Friday when 10 of us met up at 12.30pm we had a lovely lunch, lots of laughter and finally went home at 4.30pm.... some the worse for wear! not me though as I was driving.
On Saturday, my Grandson Ryan and fiance Amy took me off for afternoon tea to Cloud 23 at the Hilton.(as the name tells you, it is on floor 23 lol ) at Manchester,
As we were a little early we called in at Rylands Library which is a wonderful building. The light takes the colour from the magnificent windows.
The reading rooms a still very much in use.

The original toilets which are still in use ( new ones also) I tried it out lol...
The views were wonderful over the city. Little people and matchbox cars
A hard decision selecting cocktails.....
We started with cocktails but they refused to buy me Champagne at £800 at bottle even though it was a birthday treat lol..
The food was delicious! all freshly made with as much tea/coffee as you wanted. (jam and clotted cream scones on bottom shelf )

We spent a lovely 2 hours there, helped along by the head waiter in a sharp suit and a really cute bottom (not that I noticed lol) !!

Off to bowling this morning and then more fence painting if it stays dry, Thanks for your visit

Oh Tilly what a lovely post. Belated birthday wishes from me. I did have a chuckle at the view from the toilet....I know what you meant but as it followed the other one that's how I read it 😂😂😂😂 Thanks for joining in the fun.
Hugs,

Wow! You have had some great birthday celebrations! A fab gettogether with friends is not to be sniffed at.
Was the Cloud 23 a birthday treat too? Looks great, and the food/scones etc make my mouth wáter. What a lovely treat.
Oh I forgot to comment on the Antique loo. I love it! I do remember those wooden loo seats (not at all uncomfortable, but hygienic?)
Have a great week,
Lisca

So nice to see you out on the town, first with the girls and then with family.
My dil used to work at the Rylands so I know how beautiful a building it is. Glad you had time to enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures, off to make a sandwich now but not quite up to the same standard as yours.
Hugs, Neet xx

I think I need to sample that afternoon tea myself. Can't see Philip going with me though I'd never get him in the lift and by time he'd got up the stairs I would have eaten his as well and started on breakfast haha.

I've seen that building from the outside when I have visited my son in Manchester. I'm not sure how well we would cope with the views at that height but I could definitely do the tea justice.
The roses on your blog header are magnificent!
