Well, I have been to Fort William for my birthday (a BIG one lol ) and stayed in a super cottage opposite Ben Nevis and with Loch Locky running at the bottom of the garden !!!wow, what views!
It is a salmon river and also they do get otters and seals, but although always on the lookout... I did not spot any...
I have never been still, so much to see, stunning scenery wherever you look....Bonnie Price Charlie looking for invaders
Beautiful town and ferry port of Malaig
The richness and fabulous stained glass windows of St Andrews Church in town
walks to waterfalls, the drive aroun Loch Leven was stunning....
Only one castle this trip...a ruin, a trip to Port Augustas.... the Abbey I wanted to see has been turned into a private hotel....The boat trips to spot Nessie were £15.00... so seeing I DON'T do water/boats and the fact no-one has actually seen Nessie, did not make me part with my dosh lol !
A visit to Oban, a walk in the forest where Braveheart was made, walks along the Caledonian canal, A cream tea for my birthday........
The cards I recieved before coming away to open on the day. (the crochet was laid out beforehand at home so I needed to keep it in order lol
And Finally, Taking the gondola's and then climbing the last bit of Ben Nevis on my last day !!!!
icy cold up there at 4406 ft but I did it !!
Thank you for your visit

lovely pictures Christine and something to remember your special day
Wow! What a fantastic trip! A belated happy birthday. Your cream tea got me drooling (literally salivating, lol).
A wonderful collection of birthday cards you opened on the day. I spotted one with 70 on it. Surely that is not yours.....
Have a good weekend,
Keep smiling,
Lisca
PS your link took me back to Annie's blog, so luckily I found you in her side bar.
Hi Tilly. Firstly I must say a very happy belated birthday. What is it about Fort William?.....I went there for my 50th birthday. It must be the place to go to get away from it all hehehe. You took several photos while standing in exactly the same places as us too. A really beautiful place to go.
Thank you for sharing your photos....it brought back some special memories for me. This year I will be celebrating another bit birthday but my family would like a party....we will see :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
